The group owner can create moderators from the membership. I own a group, but made several respected members moderators of that group, to ensure the group is not a sole-dictatorship, and to garner assistance with the group should it be necessary.

The owner can create moderators. The owner can also edit group settings like the icon, background image, and description. Owners are also able to delete posts, and edit a post made by another member.

A moderator has no control over the groups settings, and can't create moderators. A moderator is able to delete and edit posts made by another member.

Banning members from a group is not possible for owners or moderators. The method is to contact a staff member, describe the issue, and have them take over from there.

I don't know if there is a way to ban a member from a group. A member could be removed from a group, but I don't see why they would not simply re-join with the same account, or with another account. Maybe the staff have additional group powers for this?. The group may need to be switched to invite only instead of open membership.
