Hi, could someone help me whether to learn hypermesh or ansys.? I am more interested in CAE, so my important doubt is which one to study and how to learn it. Is there any basic prequistic knowledge i have to take before learning these softwares?

  1. MSC Nastran (Preferred by OEM)
  2. Abaqus
  3. Hypermesh (Meshing Only)
  4. Ansys

For MBD

  1. MSC ADAMS
  2. Simulia (Dassult)
  3. Altair Motion

Thanks for the info. Happier that you mentioned MBD also.

I have another query . Is catia/hypermesh/Adams or altair motion is good combination?

I have worked as CAE Engineer. I have used Hypermesh for FEA (for vibration analysis). And used Ansys for for CFD. I do not think you need to worry about software. Most important is the physics and modelling behid it.


For prerequisite knowledge, I strongly advide to have basic in Finite element method, numerical method for engineer.
