Good book for those who want to learn about Software Defined Radios (SDR)

I recently came across this book about Software Defined Radios (SDR) which is the latest edition by Andrew Barron, ZL3DW : https://www.qsl.net/zl3dw/SDRbook.html

He provides an insight for the newbie or beginner to the world of SDR and what to look for with the explosion of so many evolving devices in the marketplace as well as all the technology bits that you want to be aware of before any purchases.

The reason is that SDRs are evolving still today (- see my post on RF-SoCs -) with many that are either out-dated or new features are emerging. And this is not just for the hardware either ! There are many open source software defined radio programs that are also evolving with features that may only work with certain technologies or on specific radios.

The other thing to look out for is the transmitting end of a transceiver since this can also be a major distinguisher between radio models. But this is only for those who wish to transmit on licensed bands.

Anyways check it out and I think that you will enjoy it - I am ! :-)
