And considering all the more recent upgrades that occurred over the last decade, its a shame that its the end of some of the radio telescope era for many locations and others threatened by shut down by lack of funding.
This is in addition to the threat of decommissioning of the radio telescopes in Green Bank, Virginia only a couple of years ago by the NSF defunding it. Just recently they identified the largest neutron star :
