What happens if you add a limit mate to the vertical travel of the follower, so that it is unable to go to the unwanted position?

I tried adding limits but this is what happens now.

Actually it works fine with basic motion. I am getting this problem when I select animation.

At one point it falls down and gets back to its initial position. The springs are working fine so I removed them for now.

try turning on Solidworks motion in the add-ins and run the motion study in motion analysis mode.

I have removed the springs for now because they work fine.

In my last image I have sent my cam mate.For Cam path i could only select one face whereas in the tutorial i referred he managed to select multiple faces. Do you think that can be an issue?

I tried that and it works fine for cam and follower. But the problem is I could not make the springs work in it. I feel springs work only in animation mode.

I also downloaded this model and tried animating it. But I faced similar problems. Can anybody try animating to check if it works.

Yes, you need to select all faces. The Selection Manager should let you do that. Get it by right-clicking anywhere and choose it if available.

An alternative option is to edit the sketch defining the cam. Select (all the elements of) the cam outline and choose the 'Fit Spline-command'. This turns the circumference into one closed spline resulting in a single outer face.
