There is a tool which can change an educational part to a commercial part. I've never seen the tool, but I believe it resides at SOLIDWORKS HQ.
It is likely a flag in the raw file data, but I'm sure there is some added complexity involved since the slightest change to the raw data file results in checksum errors. This is even worse since they went to a compressed/encrypted file format back in 2016 or so.
So yes. SOLIDWORKS, or a Value Added Reseller may be able to convert an educational license part to a commercial version.
There is nothing wrong with the icon though. It just causes a pop-up window on opening.
