I've used MeshLab with dxf format and not success when import dxf to SW ...what's the best way to to import stl or obj with large file to SW as surface body or solid body and editing it


When importing large STL files in to SOLIDWORKS come across error.

SolidWorks 2016 has a limit of 500,000 facets. No idea what the future versions have...

This is approximately 24 MB for binary STL files & 138 MB for ASCII format STL files.

You can reduce the file's no. of facets using an online tool (like: 3DLess), or a mesh editing software (like: MeshMixer).
