you can start from a 3d sketch and then you can select the commercial section of beam you want to use,you can get the BOM automaticly from the multiparts model you've made.

1/ If you check my models you will see a complete set of lightweight scaffolding and the various components that go into such which is as probably per your desired ends. This model with my range of components could be used as an example and template to your means (https://grabcad.com/library/scaffolding-complete-sets-2-aluminium-1)

2/ You should best start with creating a library of each of your standard scaffolding components that include configurations for the different size range. The parts properties field should be populated with part numbers ,descriptors and weights that could be used in a self generated BOM

3/ Once you have your parts library created then you can make subset assemblies with different configurations fully mated (ie base frames with side frames & diagonals) . These subset assemblies then can be used to create larger assemblies as per your scaffolding requirement which will easily be mated and produced quickly.
