Assembly mold workflow
Hello,
I use solidworks to design plastic injection molds. My workflow is almost completely in Part files, but I have seen people who have the final mold file as an assembly, but how do they turn the solid bodies that result from mold split tools into assemblies? I can't think of a direct way that wouldn't require inserting every body into a new part, is that the only way?

When you use the "Split" feature in SolidWorks, you have the option to save every individual body created by the split as separate part files. Once those part files are saved, you can create an assembly file by inserting the individual part files and adding whatever necessary mates you require.
