Can solidworks Flow Simulation tool successfully do a CFD Analysis on a Common Plate Heat exchanger?

Yes you can but I advise you use a software ANSYS. It is a lot better and you have more control over the conditions.

How to do it in ANSYS
when you open ansys chose fluid flow CFX and drag it out on to the project schematic.Then open the geometry tab and if you have the CAD model already saved as a STEP or IGES file go to the top left of the screen and click on the file tab and go down to Import external geometry. Import the file and click generate.close the tab and click on the mesh and create a mesh. Finally click on the setup tab and follow the wizard. analyse and get your results.
