Can we scale a part file for assembly in catia v5?
My part design model has dimensions much larger than that required for assembly. Is there a way to make the dimensions smaller without actually re-creating the model?

You could use the Scaling option in the Transformation toolbox, but that will just take your large part model and change the size. I would not do this, unless you're just making pretty pictures.
If you're working on a real design, you should make a new model with smaller dimensions that correspond to the mating parts in the assembly. (or copy the large part and modify it by making the dimensions smaller)
