can we split a single object in two different pieces in pro-E ?
I wanted to cut a single object in two half's and save those files separately. In solid works its very simple. can we do it in pro-e ?

not using multibody feature in Pro/E since it doesn't support multibody environment like SW. but you have to create the cut feature two times for this.
see if mirror part option works for you use extrude to remove material from original part then under filemenu>mirror part.
Everything depends on what you want to do... if you only want to have to separate parts for your drawing, you can cheat proengineer, making an assembly where you assemble the same 2 parts, then you have to select first the plane you want to use to cut the part, then go to Edit and use the solid function to remove first one part (you have to check the intersection option in the feature to add only the part you want to cut). By this you cut the 1st part.
You have to make the same operation with the second part by switching the side to cut and the part to be cut... (small example attached)
