Hey how do I import files into Autodesk inventor? and how do I know what kind of a files i can import?

Thanks before hand and btw way i am fairly new to CAD.

It depends on the version of Inventor you have. The 2020 version supports the formats in the table here:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2020/ENU/?guid=GUID-AF41FA87-7588-4698-9C41-756A01EBE7F4
