I guess (I don't use ArchiCad), that your version of ArchiCAd is not able to open your current AutoCAD-fileformat.
Try to save the dwg/ dxf in an older AutoCAD-fileformat with "Save As..." and selecting
e,g, AutoCAD version 2012

If you're encountering issues importing a 2D DWG file into ArchiCAD and receiving the message "unsupported DXF/DWG file format," here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. **Check DWG/DXF File Version:**
- Ensure that the DWG file you are trying to import is saved in a compatible version. ArchiCAD may not support the latest DWG/DXF file formats. Save the DWG file in an older version, preferably an AutoCAD 2007 or earlier format, and try importing again.

2. **Use a Middleman Application:**
- Consider using an intermediate application to convert the DWG file to a different format, such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes). You can use applications like AutoCAD or DWG TrueView to open the DWG file and then save it in the desired format.

3. **Update ArchiCAD:**
- Ensure that you are using the latest version of ArchiCAD. Software updates often include improvements and compatibility fixes. Check for updates and install the latest version of ArchiCAD if available.

4. **Check for Import Settings:**
- When importing the DWG file into ArchiCAD, review the import settings and options. ArchiCAD might have specific settings related to DWG/DXF import. Adjust these settings based on the content of your DWG file.

5. **Convert to ArchiCAD Compatible Format:**
- Use an intermediate conversion tool to convert the DWG file to a format that ArchiCAD supports, such as DXF. Once converted, try importing the DXF file into ArchiCAD.

6. **Contact Graphisoft Support:**
- If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Graphisoft support. They can provide specific guidance based on the version of ArchiCAD you are using and may offer solutions or workarounds for the compatibility issue.

7. **Check File Integrity:**
- Ensure that the DWG file is not corrupted. Open the file in AutoCAD or another DWG viewer to confirm its integrity. If there are issues, try obtaining a clean version of the DWG file.

8. **Alternative Import Methods:**
- Explore alternative methods of importing 2D content into ArchiCAD. Instead of using DWG, you might consider importing the information using other file formats like PDF or IFC, depending on your specific requirements.

Remember that software and file format compatibility can evolve with updates and versions, so keeping both ArchiCAD and your DWG files up-to-date is generally advisable. If you continue to experience issues, reaching out to ArchiCAD support or community forums for assistance may be beneficial.
