How do I cut a body using a weldment in solidworks?
Hi all, I have a staircase I have made just with treads and have added the stringers after. The stringers overlap the stair treads so I tried to cut the treads back using "cut with surface" to no avail. any ideas on the best option?

Presumably the treads were produced by extruding a sketch and the stringers are weldments.
You could try this: Start a new sketch on the end of the a weldment, use 'Convert entities' to give you the profile and then do an 'Extruded cut' selecting only the stair tread in 'Feature Scope'.
