How do I design this handle for my box compartment?

First time user, just got into CAD.
I want to make a handle, for a drawer in a box, that requires the user to squeeze the handle to unlock and then pull the handle to open the box compartment. If the user does not squeeze the handle, thereby unlocking the drawer, the drawer cannot be opened.
This is to prevent the drawer from opening if the box is say tilted or dropped.

Those are fairly common in electrical panels but are also commercially avaialbe.
I would suggest getting your hands on one to see how the cam mehcnaism works.
I found some on McMaster if you wanted to download one to see its footprint, though it may not help with any of the internal mechanics. For that I would suggest giving the library a browse.
