How do I mate a part to a belt in solidworks so that the part moves?

hi there, i have been struggling with this for a whole day and would appreciate any suggestions. I have a simplified scenario to visualize this problem. I have 2 pulleys adjacent to each other. I have created a belt that links both of them. Now as i turn one pulley, the other pulley also turns. I would like to attach/mate a part to the belt so as i rotate the pulley the object follows the belt all the way around the loop. I cant seem to do this. Solidworks belt feature seems to create a static/inert belt.
