How have you configured your mouse buttons to be more efficient with you CAD tool?

Also if you could refer to the mouse you are using.

In class we have both mouse and 3D mouse they have been configured for us and we are not allowed to change the settings :(

Right click brings up a customizable menu. Middle click for pan. Wheel up and down is zoom in and out. Button 4 is undo and button 5 is redo.

I'm using the default settings of the mouse (three-button). All frequently used commands easier to execute through hot keys on the keyboard. And of course I use 3D connexion mouse.

The CATIA default 3 button commands are pretty efficient already. However, if I have a 5 button mouse, having one of the buttons be one that can replace the Enter key would speed things up.

Logitech Performance MX: tried to get the same configurations between Solidworks and Creo. Lower thumb button for measuring distances, middle wheel for tilting/zoom and OK, right for moving objects in creo (haven't gotten it dialed in SW yet), back button for undo. Still need to map the zoom button, forward button is too hard to reach. On the spaceball-- fit to screen and ESC.

SW: RB/LB/MB unchanged from default, button 4: CTRL, button 5: CTRL+8 (eq. "normal to...")
The CTRL is nice if you want to sit back and don't use your keyboard :)
The "normal to" button I really recommend.

Hi there to everyone,
I bought a 3D device from 3Dconnexion company. I´m engineer and I get used to work with CATIA Dassault sistems software. At first you must CLOSE CATIA.

If you have this device and you would like to add Control buttom to your device into CATIA software go into your computer to C:\Users\"YourUser"\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg and you will find an .xml file called "CATIA.xml". Chage it for this other that i made: https://mega.nz/#!N9wAhDaZ

The pass for thge file is : !um8zKIt2KQPQSD_neY9kPsOm07D87UXml5L1V_d8qdM

Now, restart CATIA software and enjoy!
I test it by myself, it works because i make it. ;D

If you are using SolidWorks, there is a few things you can customize, theres the right click wheel it can have up to 8 commands, you can customize those too, with all those and with the ones on a 3d mouse it more than enough

Right click for Mouse Gestures.. Middle mouse for OK. Changing mouse gestures to 8 in SW. This saves me lot of time and clicks.
