How modifying IGS files in Inventor 2011?

I have a client that uses Autodesk Inventor. I have a supplier who has created a 3D CAD model in Solid Works and exported it as an IGS file. The client says that they can view it but they can't make changes to it. What do they have to do to solve this problem?
