Use this method only for quick visualizing and general measuring (If you want precise use the "Measure" command like Ady showed.

You can use Analyze / "Distance" when inside verification to check how your cut model lines up with your model's geometry. Just move your mouse around where the lines should be and they'll show up. This is a fast way to check that your cutting on the proper side of a chain or that a cut is aligned properly with your model. Just be sure to exit Analyze Distance before you exit Verify or you'll have to refresh your screen.
