How to do injection molding die in Solidworks for this product?

draft angle = 3 . and four cavity

1 Answer

The problem with adding draft after the part has been designed, is that as the sides are tapered, material is removed from some areas and added to others.
This can cause many problems with the fit between parts.

This part will require side action pulls or cams, so the tooling will be more complex and costly.
There is also quite a bit of variation. .5mm to about 6mm in other spots. It may be possible to mold it, but given the number of sharp edges and corners, I think this part requires some additional work (beyond draft angles) before it can be created.
