How to mate these two gears?

you should use mechanical mates >> Gear and assign a ratio between gear and pinion based on their mechanical and dimensional specifications.good luck brother :)

do u want consider interferences or not? it's just depend on you Design accuracy brother.if you modeled exactly and consider the dimensions and select the best ratio between gear and pinion u simply can simulate them without any interferences.in this case u must open assembly and click on mate and open << mechanical mates >> into this rule after that u will see the ratio and u must assign that based on their diameter.by the way don't forget that in these gears(helical gears) u must involved the ccw gear to cw pinion and vice versa .

Ill go with the gear mate too you have the ratio thats all you need if you are going to simulate it replace the mate with a contact for it to be more accurate

Try this.

align two gears manually, just go to advance mate mechanical mate, gear mate, give ration bet'n them. that's all buddy.....
