how to put a strenghing rib in sheet metal flange

I'm having trouble putting a rib into a sheet metal part for strength. I would like to put it in along the 90 deg bend in the middle about a 1/4 inch deep. Not sure how to go about doing it.

Hi Gabe,
It' simple.
1.Draw a line according to your rib requirement.
2.Select rib command.
3.Set direction and other parameters.
4.click green check mark.
5.Solidworks automatically create it.

thank you for your help, but how do i get it to unfold? plus the rib is only from one side the indent should be coming from the top.

Hi Gabe,
I don't know their is exact way for it. But using trike you can archive. Make extrude cut like image.

Are you looking for a weld in gusset or a stamped in boss?

no weld the rib will be applied the same time the flange is bent.

Use a forming tool to apply the rib.
Has to be a sheet metal part
There are some samples with Solidworks

I figured out how to put in the rib! Now the question is, why will it not unfold? Any help?

To unfold suppress the rib feature
SW at least thru 2011 won't flatten a forming tool feature
