Reduce Step file size?
I have a 250mb step file, is there anyway to reduce it's size to 25mb?
I have the ability and access to other CAD software and converting it to something else is also doable.

That's mostly impossible to say without seeing the model.
1. encase the cad model in a simple cube. After transferring, delete the cube.
2. Zip, rar, or otherwise compress the file
3. Span the file across multiple smaller files (zip and rar support spanning)
4. Create a 2D drawing and send it as a small PDF file
It is possible in Catia, not sure of others. May be I can help you. Send me the stp file. I will try to reduce somewhere to 25 Mb. But you will lose small details. Is that okay for you.
