Solidworks Isn't Displaying the Reference Triad (Even when Enabled)

Can someone please help me figure out what is going on? This is driving me absolutely nuts, the reference xyz triad show ONLY when I shrink SOLIDWORKS down to a very small window. When I enhance the size of the window, the XYZ reference totally disappears. Iv've attached some photos.

click Tools > Options > System Options > Display. Select Display reference triad.
