In general, a finite element solution may be broken into the following three stages.

1. Preprocessing: defining the problem;
- Define keypoints/lines/areas/volumes
- Define element type and material/geometric properties
- Mesh lines/areas/volumes as required

2. Solution: assigning loads, constraints and solving;

3. Postprocessing:
- Lists of nodal displacements
- Element forces and moments
- Deflection plots
- Stress contour diagrams

In this tutorial we will go through first step.

Your are the best. You saved my life

I f u want to use the spar2d element type it is avaliable in ansys 10

Thank you, you did a great tutorial! Congrats!

i wanna create truss with different cross-sections, how to do this ? please help

I'm using ANSYS 17 when i try to put real constants for link 180 i get an error "real constants are no longer supported for link 180 elements" i'm stuck, what should i do? plz help me.
