Flood: FLOOD option, detects the island and hatches around them i.e. this option includes islands as boundary objects. When we check on the flood radio button, the three styles in the island detection style option such as Normal, Outer, Ignore works properly.

Ray Casting: RAY CASTING option runs a line from the point we specify to the nearest object and then traces the boundary in a counter clockwise direction, thus excluding islands as boundary objects. Ray casting option with Normal style ignores all internal objects and hatches through them.
