What Keyshot versions support Solidworks 2012 files?

Actually, KeyShot 2 will import SolidWorks 2012 files. Grab the plugin from here http://www.keyshot.com/downloads/plugins.html and you'll be good to go!

KeyShot 3 will support SolidWorks 2012 files format. If you're sticking with v2.3, you need to save as a Parasolid or other formats like what Fateh suggested ... and I think that means you can't assign faces with different materials.

I just upgraded to Keyshot 3 x64 (3.0.78) to use with my SoldiWorks 2012 x64 and it is a real nightmare to use to compare with the old Keyshot 2 which always worked fine... (the new version import all my drawing in distortion shape and missing many components either in parts or assembly selection and this in any format I have tried...) I think someone is messing up with upgrades at Luxion Inc....
