Where to start designing machining center?
i intend to design a ready to build milling machine for practice. What is the procedure, where should i start?

Start with gathering all the required data, download or create the parts that are made by some company (electric motors for example) and make a hand drawn sketch to have a guidance. Then, when you have a rough skeleton, start building it... Most of the parts you will probably have to build in context, that is, use the "top down modeling"... Good luck! ;)
