Catia is the best forever.

MS PAINT

If it is for design it would need to be Auto desk Alias
:)

Ive used Top solid complete with machining package and it was over complicated.
My only experience with Pro-e Is with models I received from customers in igs format these were often flawed and difficult to repair. Many companies do their machining directly from solid models. In my own business the models that caused the least problems were from solidworks. So I would say SolidWorks. You can produced Autodesk compliant drawings easily from it for detailing.

Thanks a lot stuart for sharing your experience...i am sure this would help me make some decisions.

Topsolid 7 unhesitatingly

VISI is the best software according to me as I have used other software as well like CATIA,CREO and UGNX but I found VISI best among them because it is specially designed software for Tool and Die industry which includes everything that is needed, from blank simulation to Die motion study
