Why do so many people upload empty assembly files on GrabCad?
Why are people uploading empty assembly files. Is there a failsafe mechanism that prevents people from doing this? This site is Chockfull of "models" that arent really there except for the picture. Seems kind of pointless to me.

To be quite honest, most of the uploaders seem to be unfamiliar with the file structure of most 3D cad programs and also seem to be students that have not been taught the idea of file dependancies.
We are working on making GrabCAD "question mark" free site with all the working links and related files. This definitely isn't one months job. So far please, if you see some broken links or lack of necessary files, simply send user a private message or click "Report this model" and we will take care of it in return.
I go with you buddy...but There's nothing wrong in commenting on that model to request him/her to upload the whole assembly...:)..I did dat and he/she immediately responded !! ..
I know in my case, and I suspect others as well, we have permission from the Intellectual property holders to use only images, not CAD data. Where I own the rights to the CAD, I share it, and where I do not I upload images only. It works as a portfolio that way.
