Bottom for Soda Pet Bottle

Shaping the bottom of pet soda bottles can sometimes be challenging.
Here we present two possible types of bottoms for this type of bottle.

This is part of a series of tutorials we made some time ago.

  1. Step 1: The Typical One

    • First we want to credit Paul Salvator, considered by many as aSW Guru, for his model. Please visit his website (http://www.zxys.com/swparts/).

  2. Step 2: Preliminary Sketches..

  3. Step 3: Some needed planes

    • Fives lugs in the bottom means we need some auxiliary planes.

  4. Step 4: Basic Sketches (3)

We are going to Loft and for that we need 3 Sk's in total. Two equals separated by 72°, for the end profiles. And one in the middle for the mid profile.

  5. Step 5: Surfacing

  6. Step 6: Finishing de Bottom

Thicken the surface to create a solid with the proper thickness. (Around 0.4 to 0.6 mm)

And we finished the first bottom style.

  7. Step 7: The Other Bottom Style

    • This one is made using pure solids...

  8. Step 8: Base Solid.

Converting to Splines is optional. Just only for advanced designers who need solids with smoother curves. Your Pick!

  9. Step 9: Modeling the side low reliefs

  10. Step 10: Combining and Shelling

  11. Step 11: Final Result.

  12. Step 12: Final Words.

    Hope to be of help.
