Break Reference to Toolbox

Step 1:
Go into the toolbox pulldown and choose configure toolbox. Then change the files option to create parts. This will solve the issue of sending an assembly to someone without the toolbox.

Step 2:
For toolbox parts that you modify, do a save as to a different name. There is really no other way to not have a conflict when modifying toolbox parts.
