Step 1: Generative SheetMetal Design
Gussets are triangular or L-shaped reinforcements that are typically added to sheet metal components to improve their strength and stiffness. In CATIA V5 Generative SheetMetal design, gussets can be created using a variety of methods, including:
- Using the "Punch" tool: This method involves creating a punch feature that represents the shape of the gusset. The punch is then applied to the desired sheet metal face.
- Creating a User Punch: This method allows for more flexibility in the creation of gussets, as it permits the use of more complex shapes and angles.
- Using the "Stiffening Rib" tool: This tool can be used to create gussets that are connected to the main sheet metal part.
