Como instalar una base giratoria / How to install a Lazy Susan
Una base metálica giratoria, también conocida como Lazy Susan, es un mecanismo que permite acoplar dos superficies planas, para tener un movimiento rotatorio de una con respecto a la otra, podemos ver ejemplos de su uso en sillas, mesas o bases para decoración de pasteles.
Existen de diferentes tamaños y formas, aunque normalmente la forma de elegirlas se basa en el peso que pueden soportar.
En este tutorial se mostrará el procedimiento para instalarla.

A metallic rotary base, commonly known as Lazy Susan, is a mechanism that allow us match two surfaces to get a rotational movement between these two surfaces, we can see examples of this in chairs, tables, or bases for cake decoration.
There are different sizes and shapes, but the correct way to choose is based on how much weight can handle.
In this tutorial is going to be shown the process to install it.

Step 1:
El primer paso es marcar dos líneas perpendiculares sobre la superficie fija donde se montará la base giratoria, esta superficie puede ser una mesa, un banco o cualquier otro tipo de mueble.
Estas líneas entrecruzadas se usarán para centrar la base giratoria a instalar.

The first step is trace two perpendicular lines on the fixed surface where the base is going to be mounted, this surface can be a table, chair, or another piece of furniture.
These crossed lines are going to be used for centering the rotary base.

Step 2:
Teniendo la base giratoria centrada con las líneas guías, se marcan los cuatro puntos para los orificios de los extremos. Se retira la base giratoria y se procede a realizar las perforaciones con taladro.

Once the base is correctly centered with the lines, four points will be marked, one per each corner of the base, then we move the base to drill the holes marked.

Step 3:
Después se hace lo mismo con la otra superficie, la cual es aquella que se moverá. En esta superficie se harán las mismas líneas guía y también se marcarán los orificios de los extremos más uno extra, el cual corresponde a uno de los otros cuatro orificios de la base, este quinto orificio debe ser del doble de tamaño que los otros cuatro.

Now we are going to do the same with the other surface that is going to rotate. On this surface we will mark the same two perpendicular lines and the four points for drilling, additionally an extra dot will be needed, this one is going to be of double diameter from the rest.

Step 4:
Con lo cual se tendrá un total de cinco orificios en esta superficie, cuatro del mismo tamaño y uno más grande que el resto.

In general, we have five points on this surface, four of the same size and another bigger.

Step 5:
Para empezar la instalación, primero se colocará la base giratoria en la superficie movible por medio de cuatro tornillos que estén a la medida.

To begin with installation, our base will be mounted to the rotatory surface using four screws according to the size of the holes.

Step 6:
Una vez teniendo la base fija a la superficie movible se procederá a colocar este sistema a la otra superficie, pasando cada tornillo a través del orificio extra hecho previamente en la superficie superior. Cada vez que termine de colocar un tornillo, gire la base para poder colocar el siguiente.

Once we have our base installed to the rotatory surface, this mechanism will be fitted to the fixed surface, passing each screw through the extra hole made on the top surface. When a screw is correctly fitted, rotate the base to use the same hole and pass the next one.

De esta forma habrá instalado correctamente la base giratoria.
