H-convergence using cst elements ?
I've never tried to do a simulation before, just be aware of that ... maybe someone else can verify but I don't think I missed anything.
I hope this will help.
-
Step 1:
Open the part, go to the Office Products tab, click on SolidWorks Simulation.
-
Step 2:
A new tab called Simulation will appear, click on it, Study Advisor, New Study.
-
Step 3:
As I already applied the material to the part you won't need to.
You can do the the following instructions from the tab or you can follow what I did.You have to have a fixture in your part so I fixed one end and doubled the force on the other, it'll give you the same results.
Right click on Fixtures and choose Fixed Geometry. -
Step 4:
Select an end (highlighted in blue), then the green check mark.
-
Step 5:
Right Click on External Loads and choose Pressure.
-
Step 6:
Select the other end, choose the measuring unit (N/mm^2) which is MPa put a value of 60 and check Reverse direction then the green check mark.
-
Step 7:
Right click on Study and choose Properties.
-
Step 8:
Choose the settings that suits you form the Adaptive tab.
I got an error with H-Adaptive and P-Adaptive but I think it's just something wrong with my software. -
Step 9:
Right click on Mesh and choose Mesh and Run.
-
Step 10:
Few seconds and you'll see the results on screen, you can now generate a report; show the stress, displacement, strain ... etc.
