How to model calla flower like this on pictures??
I gave it go and here is what I came up with. I hope you like it.
*** Note *** I am running Windows and SolidWorks on a mac and don't know how to take a screen shot. I attempted to make a video to show how I made the flower but the video does not show the feature tree or my mouse where I was trying to point to things. I hope between the video and these steps you can get an idea of how I made this flower.
-
Step 1:
Petals
-I opened up a new sketch and place the picture of the flower in the back ground. -
Step 2:
-then I traced a profile on one side of the petal with the spline tool.
-
Step 3:
-I did an offset entities and then closed the ends with short line segments.
-
Step 4:
-in a new sketch I made a spiral to the shape of the petals.
-
Step 5:
-pierce the two sketches together and do a sweep.
-
Step 6:
-I then made a plane that bisected where the petals overlap and drew a profile of an arc. This was used to cut away the petals to give the flower the proper shape.
-
Step 7:
-Added various fillets to shape and cleanup the petals
-
Step 8:
Pistol
-sketch of a circle at base of petal -
Step 9:
-sketch of smaller circle where top of pistol should end
-
Step 10:
-profile sketch between two circles
-
Step 11:
-loft using the above three sketches.
-
Step 12:
-The top face of pistol cleaned up with a fillet
-
Step 13:
Stem
-Made a circle below the petal and pistol and did a simple extrude boss down for the strait part of the stem -
Step 14:
-Made a circle at the base of the petal and stem (that would merge all the bodies)
-
Step 15:
-created four guide curves from the circle to the top of the extruded boss and made a loft.
-
Step 16:
-cleaned up steam with fillets
-
Step 17:
