How to use the Global and Local Axis in Blender
This is an overview of the Global and Local Axis in Blender.
-
Step 1: Blender global/local axis
This method lets you toggle between Global and Local axes on the fly while performing transformations (translate, rotate, scale).
- Steps:
- Select your object.
- Start a transformation by pressing G (translate), R (rotate), or S (scale).
- Press the X, Y, or Z key once to move/rotate/scale along the Global axis in that direction (e.g., X for global X-axis movement).
- Press the same key again (X in this case) to switch to the object's Local X-axis.
- Press the key a third time to turn off the axis restriction.
