HOW we can make hole thorough all component in assemble with concentric constraint together?

Hi Saeid,

I found this application as an add-on from Autodesk Exchange Apps for Inv. 2013-14
It does exactly what you're willing to do...In the beginning you will like it and I believe you will agree that this is the solution for your problem ...well partially you will be right! BUT only partially!

I have to admit that is a smart tool but... I think it has some disadvantages...

Let me show you...

  1. Step 1:

    1. Visit the following link Download & install
    http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3ainventorfeaturemigrator%3aen&autostart=true

  2. Step 2:

    2. Sit back and take a look of how it's working...I'll be here for your comments...

So, what you see here is a flange end of pipe... What we're trying to achieve is to put some holes on this red rubbery medium (flange) in the assembly level
    ... for NOW!!!

  3. Step 3:

3.That was the easy part for most of us out there... and to make this more interesting I have used also the circular pattern!!! Take a look on the next Pic.

  4. Step 4:

4.Just to make it clear as you can see below, the features comes from the "3D Model" tab... Cool!!!

Now click on the the ribbon by selecting the tools tab.... Do you see what I see????

Click now on this new icon namely "Feature Migrator" and you will see the dialogue next to your history tree!!!

  5. Step 5:

    5. Everything is pretty much straightforward now...
Bear in mind that both of your models and maybe the assembly too ***MUST*** be under the same project in order to work properly but I cannot see how this can become a problem as every Inventor user uses the projects for every different job ;P

Now press the detailed report for extra options....

  6. Step 6:

6.Once you will choose your options you can press "Next feature", or "OK"

  7. Step 7:

7.Double clicking on the red part ...and now you can see the holes directly to the part level Awesome!!!!

  8. Step 8:

8.However bad things are happening all the time and parts need modification more often than we thought ...so listen carefully the disadvantages...

    A. Every time that you will modify a part, I mean when you transfer features from assembly to part level, a new modified part will appear in your workspace "Surprise!!!!" new rubbish files in your vault or project file....;(
if you are O.C.D. with your project files or you are working with Vault you might find this annoying ...at least I DO ;P

    B. If you are looking to update the holes of the flange pipe take into account that you will have to start over..O_o So what is the right answer????
    - Get rid of this useless but SMART tool and stay with the brilliant tool of adaptive sketches etc. to make sure that you will not miss an update and of course to make your life a lot easier!!

    Best Regards

    Ioannis

    P.S.1
I know that the whole tutorial is next to NOTHING!!! (Especially after the step 8)
But hey look at you... now you look smarter!!!! :O

    P.S.2
I also have another link but possibly is the same add-on of an older release. You can check it here : http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/featuremanager
