Import free form CAD data to CATIA V5 as editable

The workbench from CATIA V5 is Imagine & Shape and for the file conversion I made use of Blender!

  1. Step 1: Importing subdivision meshes

    o import subdivision meshes in CATIA V5 Imagine and Shape, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Imagine and Shape workbench.
    2. In the Creation toolbar, click Import Subdivision.
    3. The Import Files dialog box opens.
    4. Select the file containing the subdivision mesh.
    5. Click Open.
    6. The subdivision mesh is imported into the current document.

    You can also use the Import command to import subdivision meshes. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the File menu.
    2. Select Import.
    3. In the Import Files dialog box, select the file containing the subdivision mesh.
    4. Click Open.
    5. The subdivision mesh is imported into the current document.

    Once the subdivision mesh is imported, you can change its orientation by clicking on the arrows in the 3D area corresponding to each surface. You can also click on the Flip Y up and Flip Z up buttons to flip the orientation of the entire mesh.
