Move and Copy commands in AutoCAD

How to works with Move and Copy commands in AutoCAD?

  1. Step 1:

I am going to show you Move first, the commands are pretty easy so even if you are beginner you should easily understand.

You can find Move on the Modify panel. You can type just M and start the command.

  2. Step 2:

Start the command and select the object you want to move,I am going to move this circle.

Now you need to specify the base point,it will be the point you will move your object from.I am going to select the center point of the circle.Circle has a radius of 10 mm.

Now you need to specify your second point,it will be the point where you want to move your circle, you can do it manually or you can type a distance,I am going to type 30 mm and my circle will just move in positive X direction for 30 mm.

You can turn ORTHO on F8 and it could help you if you wanna keep it straight.

  3. Step 3:

Now we are gonna start the Copy command. It is on the Modify panel.

    You can type CO too.

The principle is the same like with the Move command, you select the object you want to copy, you select the base point and then write your distance or copy it where you want.I am going to type 30 mm just like with Move command.
