Tutorial - How to create drawing files and make some changes on them?

Here i have exhaust part from my excavator digger. I am showing how create some quick and useful drawings of your models.

1. Step 1:

2. Step 2:

   Open your file that you want create drawing of it. Click File-Make Drawing From Part.

   (You can use this path with your assembly files too)
   

   

3. Step 3:

   After that you will see a screen that wants you to choose a sheet from standarts or your custom mades. You can find other formats with clicking on Browse button. (i'm gonna use an A3 ISO sheet on this tutorial.)
   

   

4. Step 4:

   After picking up your sheet, you will se your sheet on your desk and previews of your model's standart views.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   After you drag drop one of your files, with sliding your mouse you can change between views and create them automatically. They will be atteched to the first one.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Now we are going to learn how to edit our sheet and headers. Right click to a space on your sheet and the Edit Sheet Format.

   

7. Step 7:

   You will get your sheet format here. You can edit whatever you want. There are some text boxes which are hidden. If you want to write something down, just double click on there. You can even add/delete lines from the sketch menu.

   After editing your sheet format, and confirming it from the confirm button as always on he top right, you can save your sheet format with this path; file-->save sheet format.

   With this detail, you will be faster on your future drawings.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Now we can start to size the drawings.
   You can easily use Smart dimension tool to draw some dimensions as you used that tool on your design. That tool still works on rounds, as you see in the image.

   

9. Step 9:

   You can add some drawing additions to model. You can practise them now on one of your models.(Drawing views) Follow this path Insert--->Drawing View-->
   

   

10. Step 10:

    You can add some annotations from the same path.
    Insert-->Annotations.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    We get some problems as we installed the solidworks default and havent made any changes on options. Such as hidden edges are not shown that is not standard. You can make it correct with right clickinkg on any view and then Show/Hide---> Show Hidden Edges.
    

    

12. Step 12:

    Now we will see how the magic works with solidworks. :)
    You saw something wrong on your drawing and wanted to change it. Go back to your model (you can go there with ctrl+tab key which really useful) (i hope you didn't close the model , if you did, that key will not work, you got to double click your model and open it again.:))
    

    

13. Step 13:

    Here it is. Now i'm changing the Shell feature on my feature tree.. I make it 10mm which was 5 mm.
    

    

14. Step 14:

    ctrl+tab again and tataammmm. It changes automatically.

    And the last tip is that. You can save your drawings as jpg, png, pdf and some others.. Pdf is the best choice. You gotta try it.
