Tutorial: How to make a leaf structure in Solidworks?
Tutorial to make a leaf structure in Solidworks
-
Step 1:
Create a new part
-
Step 2:
Invoke a sketch on top plane
-
Step 3:
Make an arc as shown
-
Step 4:
Create a new plane. Insert-> reference geometry-> new plane
-
Step 5:
Provide a dimension and click ok.
-
Step 6:
Invoke a sketch on the new plane
-
Step 7:
Sketch a straight line and at a distance from the arc created in the earlier step as shown in the figure. Exit the sketch.
-
Step 8:
Insert->surface->loft->
-
Step 9:
select the two sketches to perform a loft feature.
-
Step 10:
Invoke a sketch on the front plane.
-
Step 11:
Use spline and mirror feature to make a sketch as shown.
-
Step 12:
Trim surface
-
Step 13:
Use trim tool as the spline. Keep selections as the inside shaded part. or remove selection as the outside part.
-
Step 14:
U'll get the leaf structure. Now again invoke a sketch on the front plane.
-
Step 15:
Sketch a vertical line passing through the middle of the leaf.
-
Step 16:
insert->curve->projected
-
Step 17:
Select the sketch and face to project upon.
-
Step 18:
insert a new plane parallel to the top plane
-
Step 19:
give the dimension of the plane such that its distance is a bit less than the leaf's length
-
Step 20:
sketch on plane2
-
Step 21:
draw a circle and exit the sketch
-
Step 22:
sketch a point on plane1 and exit the sketch
-
Step 23:
create a loft surface feature
-
Step 24:
select the point and the circle as the profile. Similarly create the rest part of the leaf surface.
