LEGO - 01 Basic Dimensions & Bricks Explained

68 9 Intermediate
I get a lot of questions about how I create LEGO parts. This is Part I - The Basics. Most "standard" parts can be created using only simple math. Standard parts consist of square, circular, and angled blocks - regular geometric blocks. I will refer to BrickLink (www.bricklink.com/), but many others use similar methods: Peeron: http://www.peeron.com/ BrickOwl: http://www.brickowl.com/ Brickipedia: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/LEGO_Wiki etc.

LEGO - 02 Building Bricks with Parameters

I don't get asked this but it is a very powerful tool and will make your life a lot easier. This also applies to other repetitive parts, not just LEGO bricks, and can be applied with the exact same methods.

LEGO - 03 Using Data from LDraw

20 0 Intermediate
Sometimes LEGO bricks don't fall into the regular 0.8/1.6mm rule. This will explain how to get "lumpy" 3D surface data from LDraw DAT files and use them to create your own intelligent parts. *I use the AutoDesk Inventor Pro suite, which includes Inventor Pro and 3D Studio Max. I will discuss using certain file formats, but you need to determine what your software will import/export. *I've been told that IV 2017+ will let you measure the LDraw data directly in Inventor, removing the whole 3DMax conversions steps.

LEGO - 04 Extracting Data from LEGO Digital Designer (LDD)

14 0 Intermediate
Sometimes you need to make a complex part and you can't find them on Bricklink or the like. This tut will explain how to capture data, OpenGL-style, from the LEGO Digital Designer (or other 3D apps).

Learn How to Model a Lego Brick in SOLIDWORKS & Render in Keyshot

2 0 Beginner
After almost 2 weeks, I am uploading a tutorial. The reason was my system was down again. Now I have updated my system. I am using SOLIDWORKS 2020 with Keyshot 9. In this tutorial, we'll learn how to make Lego Brick in SOLIDWORKS. It is a basic exercise for beginners and it will be a good practice for beginners. I have divided this tutorial into two parts. In the first part we will model Lego in SOLIDWORKS. In the 2nd part, we will export our model to Keyshot for rendering using Keyshot plug-in. Kindly use play pause technique for practice. I have attached files in the description for practice. Feel free to ask your queries in comment section. I will try to answer each and every question. Keep practicing as practice makes a man perfect. #lego #legobrick #cadable Lego Brick Files: https://grabcad.com/library/lego-bric...
