Graduation Project
Machine tool Production Factory (Lathes) Grade: Excellent
The aim of the project is to layout a factory to design and produce center lathes. A design of a center lathe was developed then a construction drawing for assemblies. A full detailed working drawing with dimensional and geometrical tolerances, surface finish, material and heat treatment for all parts was made. Then a casting design and calculations was made for cast parts. Then a process sheet for machining processes was made. The number of lathes to be produced per year was specified and hence the number of machine tools required for production was calculated. Finally, the factory layout was established.
