Responsible for design and assembly concepts of custom precision automated equipment and test platforms for the manufacture and testing of optical contact lenses, consumer medical devices and pharmaceutical consumer products. Duties also include project coordination, material specifications and vendor selection. Assist project engineers, technicians and scientist from concept, build and testing. Excellent organizational, oral and written skills. Able to schedule and work on multiple projects. Working knowledge and experience with AutoCad, Autodesk Inventor, Pro Engineer and SolidWorks CAD software. Granted a minimum of nine United States patents. Occasional responsibility included implementation of CAD software and employee training.
Design & Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for OEM concept, design, detailing of mechanical equipment and tooling. Project interaction with toolroom and outside vendors. Designs involved drilling and tapping operations, part handling, part holding for machining operations in CNC machining centers, fixtures for part assembly and pick – place robotics. Design work with AutoCad Release 9 and 11, CNC programming for various CNC machining centers using SmartCam software. Responsible for complete project documentation including technical writing of manuals, selection of CNC machinery and selection of tooling and or fixturing.
Spectrum Industries • March 1984 - January 1985
Responsibilities included concept, design, detail and project coordination involving custom machines, fixtures and tooling for custom machines and CNC machining centers. Close customer contact on all concept, design and installation of components. Schedule and provide complete technical manuals and technical documentation for all projects.
Industronics Inc. • July 1980 - March 1984
Design and project coordination of industrial waste to energy incinerators. Supervised a group of designers and detailers, establish department standards and engineering practices. Provide complete technical documentation including manuals with technical illustration.

Southington High School
Major emphasis was on Mechanical Drafting (3 years) and Vocational Agriculture (3 years). Other education was on job training including 10+ years welding and welding fabrication. Raising a family did not allow for attending additional formal schooling. Resulted in gaining much more practical training and experience in the real world of manufacturing and engineering.
