If they spent less than 5 minutes a day actually looking at new posts and deleting the spam rather than responding to spam reports it would probably save a tremendous amount of effort. Their spam report inbox has got to be overflowing. 5 minutes is all it would take.

There aren’t that many new posts yet a large percentage of them are spam.

GrabCad is not there to make money its here to help people with Cad problems and for people to download models made by other members. Read the Rules

I am very sure GrabCAD is aware of this. My personal take is that, it generates traffic and they don't want to lose that. It is just increasing day by day. Tutorials, questios, group, everywhere just bots and spams. Like Bob said if one of the regulars like CadCloud, Bob, Carlos, AnMay etc. is given permission to delete the spam, it would make everything more clean and usable. but I doubt it is going to happen anytime soon.

We already have various types of automated anti-spam mechanisms at GrabCAD. But like every other website, there's a continuous fight with these regular spam attacks. The system is actually stopping the most spam where users don't get to see, but there are sometimes leaks such as these. We're constantly trying to improve our antispam mechanisms.

PS: Spam in this context is automated bot contents like advertising. Other types of undesired contents (i.e. bad comments) by normal users are not called as Spam by our teams and handled by our community support team. 

I've deleted the spam questions I could find. Let me know if you see any other automated spam.

…5 minutes a day to get rid of the spam. That’s all it will take. There is NO reason not to do it. Automatic filters will NEVER catch it all.

The best anti spam mechanism is your own eyeballs.

He posted the same irrelevant message in multiple groups in order to reach the maximum number of people. All for the purpose of self promotion.

If all members did this then every group would be full of peoples "look at me profiles" and would swamp GrabCad with posts, if people are interested then they have just to click on the members name to see his models Profile. This defiantly self promotion ie SPAM.

PS his Profile is not Spam his postings are.

Another example why NEW MEMBERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO POST.

When I log in and see I have a lot of notifications, I cringe. I know it’s going to be a spammy day.

There’s a reason GrabCAD continues to reward this behavior.

GrabCad has a large user base and millions of models for people to “choose” from. Lots of users and web traffic generate advertising dollars. The users are rewarded with a high GrabCAD score. These users get what they want. GrabCAD gets what they want. It’s all about numbers and has nothing to do with quality or usability.

There is no incentive to correct the problem. Quite the opposite.

Hi. Thanks for letting me know. These passwords seem to be created by spammers etc, not of real users. Passwords in GrabCAD are one-way encrypted (hashed) so there's no way to retrieve them.

I believe they have ripped off every user. Just a matter of time until they show up higher.
