I've seen some undocumented badges, and am curious about them, will details be provided?
Are there more? Has anyone else seen these or other new badges?
As a challenge, see if you can find each of these badges out in the wild.
Tell us more.
When did you get it?
Who gave it out?
What did you do for it?
Does it allow you into secret GrabCAD parties which are held in exotic locations?
What is an INSIDER?
Why is there a magnifying glass?
Calm down, I've seen insider's badge with tons of "GrabCAD"ers, but I can't find any clue, it isn't even mentioned in the "Badges" list.
Clicking it doesn't even give you a list of people awarded this badge (as other "real" badges do), it just sends you to the badges list ...
Creepy
And sometimes badges are given for no reason. Today i have got "Render king" badge for nothing.
That is odd. Render King is for rendering 100 of your own models. I always assumed you needed to have 100 models, but maybe if you upload multiple images for a smaller number of models it counts?
Congratulations anyway.
It is a secret society right here inside of GrabCAD.
I mean, they could have been more discreet and not used badges to identify themselves to each other, but I guess a secret handshake is hard to pull off on a website.
I wonder if they are planning a big GrabCAD party, and only the Insiders will be invited.
You have to upload several models in a month. The number is unknown since you are trying to be one of the top ten most active uploaders in that time period.
Based on the number of members with the badge, I'd say it is the easiest badge to get.
If you look at a recent recipient like Ibrahim Pazinger He uploaded 25 models in June.
Another recent badge recipient is Mert Senturk. He has about 8 models uploaded in May.
25 models in a month is a lot. There are no guarantees, but I'd feel pretty confident that 10-15 uploads in a month would get you into the top ten.
It might be even easier if it is a month with a big holiday like Christmas, and people are busy with other things.
The odd thing is that I'd expect there to be 10 Active Uploader badges given out per month. If Ibrahim got his for June, and Mert got his for May, then there are some badges missing (assuming the list of recipients is in chronological order).
Seven years ago I was invited to the group of insiders as an active participant of GrabCAD. To improve the community and take part in the discussion of new functions and new opportunities. So this is not a Masonic lodge and not a union of iluminates. :)
But wouldn't a secret society of Insiders claim that there was no secret society? I bet they'd even mention other groups like the Masons, and Illuminati just to confuse or scare away anyone asking too many questions.
I have to go, a "Phone Repair Company" van has been parked in front of my house ever since I posted these questions. It is weird because I don't even have a phone. Maybe they are lost?
I've uploaded 14 this month (till now as I'm posting another tomorrow), but still no signs of any badge???
Am I still not that ACTIVE ???
Or does it come later (next month for example) ???
I'm not an expert on the subject of badges, but I would assume it runs month to month. Hopefully you'll have a new badge before this time next week.
Thanks God...
Was willing to start improving, and badges seem to be the first on my list.
What can you guys say about this ???
By the way, I don't mind GrabCAD giving such badges to its staff, but I just want to know how did he get it and others (who deserve it more) work as hard as possible to upload as many designs as they could didn't get it.
Could you please explain how, Tambet???
Thanks for noticing, I shouldn't have the Active Uploader badge, forgot to remove it after testing the system. It's fixed now!
As the descriptions says it's assigned to top ten most active uploaders in a given month.
It's OK, for a moment I thought that GrabCAD has gone nuts ...
FredSWUG the Groups-Beta is an internal badge that was used to give access to Groups before it's public launch. It shouldn't be visible and we'll fix it soon! Thanks!

Are you the person in charge of assigning the badges? Or is it supposed to be something automatic by meeting certain requirements or goals? At the moment I have had problem due to the lack of assignment of two badges being that I covered the requirements of these badges, previously I had already mentioned but without any answer. the score and badges are the only thing that gives meaning to publish models for free, and you have not been fulfilling your part, there are many users who have had this problem, I dare say that most of us do it by having a portfolio online, and be recognized and have respect from other colleagues.
I sent you a message regarding the badges that were not assigned to me, waiting for a solution
If nobody else uploads many models in a month (i.e. around a big holiday), I could see someone with only a few uploads getting the badge.
Yeah, but not 2 !!!
Anyways, It was a mistake that has already been solved.
If you render one of your models 100 times you get the badge.
Yes I believe the Insider badge was started when they were Beta testing workbench and other earlier features.
I think you should rate one of these Insider badges for Beta testing the Groups. send the current community adviser a note. - maybe you will get it next month ;)
The discussion all seems to show confusion with the badges and requisite input for achieving the merit. It would be good for GrabCad to have better clarification as to each requirement as well as frequency of distribution for all the badges (numerical input or accumulation over set time period). It would also be nice to know if the monthly basis is from the 1st to the end. I notice that there are also some prestige awards (model of the week, Golden Gear) without firm parameters though it is assumed they are based on review by GrabCad for extreme merit, however it is strange that there are only 6 badge receivers in total for the model of the week, would like to know which planetary calendar this falls in play with?
Still no sign of such badge ...
Should I contact the support?
Unfortunately, our assumption of the badge's requirements was wrong...
These are the real requirements:
