I'm bad at putting together Top X lists, but it would be interesting to hear what other people are listening to while working.
Currently playing on my Spotify:
Groove Armada - Suntoucher
What are you listening to at this moment? No cheating :D
I've been listening to Led Zeppelin a lot this week.
Specifically : Led Zeppelin IV and Houses Of The Holy.

Typically when I have a lot of writing or I need to focus I listen to the playlist: Brain Food on Spotify
https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWXLeA8Omikj7?si=QNFvNPyARHCqtT1yoam3Ng
It's typically something very uneventful. :)
As a musician--was actually my first career choice but I couldn't settle for teaching--music is something I have a hard time listening to passively. I'm constantly listening for key changes, time signatures and voicing... so yeah, typical engineer over-analyzing things.
What I typically listen to is 'lighter' fantasy genre music; stuff from various games like Skyrim and Knut Avenstroup Haugen's work from Age of Conan. Then there's Djawadi's work from Game of Thrones, Hans Zimmer's lighter stuff from Gladiator, Last Samurai, Dark Knight... that kind of stuff. Not too distracting and helps me into the 'zone'.
That sounds interesting, I never listened to game music. Maybe you should put together a Spotify playlist and share that :D
While at a thrift store today I found the triple LP of Diana Ross And The Supremes – Anthology.
Side 3 is spinning now:
YouTube has many of the tracks if you want to listen along: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHyHPMekxKIfot5JI4Ns98vxIUSEOgW6u
I see you mentioned Skyrim. Give the Witcher 3 soundtrack a try if you have not already done so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLSdl-CdOBo
Newretrowave playlists/albums, right now it's Nocturnal by The Midnight. Good stuff.
Since the early days of my home drafting course in high school (on an actual drafting table), I have, and still do listen to the album (digital now) America's Greatest Hits that came out in 1975. I added to their list of hits a while back with their Here and Now album from 2007.
Of course any good old 70's and 80's rock with a bit of country always makes the work day fly by.
Helena Cinto - Black is Black (original by Los Bravos): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuXHVMER_kg
I like Helena's version better than the original. However she re-sampled the drums at the beginning worked wonderfully, they are so deep now.
The Los Bravos original is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkwmSzPdVnY
It is odd that neither of those albums has You Can do Magic as a track. Of course the 1975 Greastest Hits can be excused since the song was not recorded until the early 80's, but the 2007 album should include it.
I have several America songs in my playlist, but I don't know if I could do a full album all at once. America is one of those bands where I love a handful of songs, but end up skipping the majority of the tracks.
I did notice that Sister Golden Hair is missing from my playlist, so thanks for mentioning them.

2013 OSCAR NOMINEE - BEST ORIGINAL SONG "Before My Time" written and produced by J. RALPH. Performed by SCARLETT JOHANSSON & JOSHUA BELL for the Sundance award winning documentary "Chasing Ice" opening November 9th 2012. It's about a young man dying in the cool and so sad that it caused shivery all my body.
"BEFORE MY TIME"
Music and lyrics by J. RALPH Ⓒ Ⓟ 2012 J. Ralph
Cold feet, don't fail me now
So much left to do
If I should run ten thousand miles home
Would you be there?
Just a taste of things to come
I still smile
But I don't want to die alone
I don't want to die alone
Way before my time
Keep calm and carry on
No worse for the wear
I don't want to die alone
I don't want to die alone
Way before my time
Is it any wonder
All this empty air
I'm drowning in the laughter
Way before my time has come

Country music has never been my fav. I'm a classic rock and metal sort of person but, I stumbled onto Chris Stapleton recently. His simplistic approach to playing and his powerful singing inspired me to pick up my guitar again after a 12 year hiatus.
So, I've got a lot of Chris Stapleton playing on a random loop. :)
These days I don't listen to a lot of stuff, but I have to say that this song really impacted me:
Joy by For King and Country. Check out their music video on YouTube which is amazing.

Usually the office I work in we have a community Sonos so pretty much what ever gets thrown up there. Today it is Pandora and the station is "Psycho by Post Malone & Ty Dolla $ign"
Normally I use Spotify. One of my Playlists inlcudes
and a lot of things :)
Hello everyone, I have just joined this community.
I started playing piano when I was 5yo, now I play various instruments just for fun, mostly piano and synth, making some drones and autogenerative background/ambient music, with cheap analog gear + VcvRack, both on linux and win.
