Is it possible to create a (helper) function in CATIA KWA (rules)?

I'm looking to create a function in CATIA knowledgeware advisor that I can call from a rule (i.e. a helper function). Is this possible? And if so, how would I do it? Do I need to use macros instead? Or, is it possible to call a macro helper function from a rule?

Thanks very much! Any advice you might have would be much appreciated.
